Pre-School Facilities

Stoughton Pre-School operates out of Stoughton Youth Centre which is located on the Stoughton Recreation Ground. The Pre-School is very accessible to the community with good bus routes and onsite parking for drop off and pick up times. Pre-School activities are based around two main halls and an enclosed garden.

Big Hall (3 to 5 year olds): The large hall is set-up around 7 key areas that support our core provision. These are: snack area, creative area, role-play area, book/quiet corner, construction area, music area and a writing area. The Bears Room is also used by the older children during registration and story time at the beginning and end of every session.

Small Hall (2 to 3 year olds): The small hall is used by the youngest children at the beginning and end of every session for registration and story time. The small hall is also used for special activities such as soft play or making tents and dens for the children to hide in.

Garden: The Pre-School has a safe, enclosed garden which is made available to the children every day, weather permitting. The garden is used for a range of activities such as water play, bug hunts etc as well a general exercise for the children.

Recreation Ground: There are two bespoke enclosed play areas on Stoughton Recreation Ground which the children can enjoy as part of supervised visits.

Equipment

We think it is important to invest in high quality, stimulating and fun equipment for the children to use. New equipment is added and rotated on a regular basis to ensure that changing needs of provision are met and that the children remain engaged by what is on offer. All of the Pre-School equipment is linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage seven key areas of learning in some way.
